How important are words to us in our life time? Seemingly, they’re very important; however we may develop the tendency to refrain from going pass basic vocabulary. If we can freely and easily convey our needs and wants, that is satisfactory. The amazing thing about words is that they’re all around us. There is nothing that exists in the known sphere of things that doesn’t have a name by way of word.
To make it better, within any given name is a broader set of words deepening our understanding of the original word or name. So what is the aim of this post? I once heard that the ability of a person to freely express them self and be successful was directly tied to their word usage. In the same report it stated that most individuals with disciplinary problems have a limited vocabulary. This isn’t to say that just because one’s vocabulary is extensive they’re more successful than the person who doesn’t have an extensive vocabulary. Nor does it say that if one’s vocabulary is limited they will outright have disciplinary issues.
However, the factor of vocabulary proves to be a huge part in a person’s development and path in life. A person’s words are usually indicators of the path they’re on and the road that they’re traveling. The late success expert, Jim Rohn once said, “Vocabulary enables us to interpret and to express. If you have a limited vocabulary, you will also have a limited vision and a limited future.” This is wisdom coming from a giant and genius in self-improvement.
When I acquired this knowledge I acted upon it by purchasing a dictionary/thesaurus. There is joy in discovering new words to add to your vocabulary. I’ve found joy in learning new words, and finding new ways to express myself. There is life and death in the power of the tongue. Power equates to the ability to get results. In the usage of our words we have the ability to get results and those results aim towards success. I encourage you on this inspired Monday to find one word today and add it to your vocabulary. This is inspiration Monday. Be inspired to do great things.
